2017 In Review: Best of Beauty

“When I arrived in America, I had these very dark red nails which some people objected to, but then some people object to absolutely everything.”
– Diana Vreeland

It’s that time again, when we recap the year that was. I’ve been re-reading my weekly links round ups, my monthly favorites posts, and some of the posts I’ve enjoyed writing the most this past year. Like unto 2016 before it, 2017 has been a bit of a doozy with a lot of ups and downs to document, but the truth is in many ways, it’s been a banner year for me personally. I’m very grateful for this and I don’t take it for granted.

So I though, why not document a few of my favorite things from this past year!

  1. Let me preface my comment by saying I am a loyal Glossier fan and will buy pretty much anything they sell. However, I am surprised to see the stretch concealer on your list. I find it has no staying power and does nothing to dark circles under my eyes that are more and more common as I near 30. Am I using it incorrectly?

    1. Probably not! Concealer is a tricky biscuit and I think you have to find what works for your skin type, complexion, hydration/dryness level, and coverage needs. It’s a highly personal formula! I’ve tried a discarded a lot of cult favorites that simply didn’t do the job for me, and I don’t think I’ve found my perfect one yet. But at the moment, this concealer fits the bill for me. I don’t wear heavy foundation so a too-intense concealer would make me look like an opposite panda even if I got the shade close enough!
